--If you completed and programmed something new for N|Watch - PLEASE SHARE IT HERE --

Hello, I am no programmer in any way. I am just a Graphic Artist/Animator. The extent of my programmer knowledge is using Macromedia/Adobe Director Lingo Tongue

I am making this thread in the hopes that if any programmers/ N|Watch owners created something new like a GAME, a NEW FEATURE, a NEW SETTING, a NEW OPTION, ANYTHING, Can they post it here and share there efforts with other N|Watch owners? I wouldn't even mind paying money for something new for the N|Watch.

I hoping that this thread will get completed projects posts.

I love this watch a lot. Thank You Zak. If I could program this is what I would like to have in my N|Watch.
Idea A hourly chime that wakes up the display - Maybe has a setting so this happens during the day and not at night
Idea A one button game - Flappy Bird Clone?
Idea An (auto fire) Space Invaders or Galaxian Galaga Space game
Idea A tone frequency music alarm creator - I wish I could make custom hourly chimes and alarms.
With a User Interface like this:

  Dumb question about battery time
Posted by: RobG - 12-16-2014, 05:00 PM - Forum: N|Watch (DIY Digital Wristwatch) - Replies (2)

Hey, I have a dumb question about the battery time. I just noticed that if you set the on time display to 0 seconds the display stays on and does not go into sleep mode. I like this option. I know if you do this, it will  drain the battery quickly. My question is how long do you think the battery could last if I kept the display on but set the display brightness to the lowest setting? I am just looking for a guess time? Are there any risks in doing this? Will it blow up? Could the screen get a burn in?

I wouldn't normally do this but I have a party to go to and would like to try it.

BTW Just got a new strap. Cool Grey with 3d texture.

Photo avrdude on osx
Posted by: chang - 12-08-2014, 09:37 PM - Forum: N|Watch (DIY Digital Wristwatch) - Replies (10)

Hi,

I'm trying to use avrdude to program the watch using OSX. I think I have installed the usb drivers correctly, because when I insert the programmer, I get a new tty.wchusbserial1410 in my /dev/ folder.
I am using this command to program the watch. When I start the command, the white light on the programmer flashes and the watch turns on, so I think it is connected in some way.

bash-3.2$ avrdude -v -v -v -v -b 76800 -p m328p -c arduino -P /dev/tty.wchusbserial1410 -U flash:w:watch_eng.hex -U eeprom:w:watch.eep

avrdude: Version 6.1, compiled on Mar 23 2014 at 04:42:55

System wide configuration file is "/usr/local/Cellar/avrdude/6.1/etc/avrdude.conf"
User configuration file is "/Users/chang/.avrduderc"
User configuration file does not exist or is not a regular file, skipping

Using Port : /dev/tty.wchusbserial1410
Using Programmer : arduino
Overriding Baud Rate : 76800
avrdude: serial_baud_lookup(): Using non-standard baud rate: 76800avrdude: Send: 0 [30] [20]
avrdude: Send: 0 [30] [20]
avrdude: Send: 0 [30] [20]
avrdude: ser_recv(): programmer is not responding
avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding
avrdude: stk500_getsync() attempt 1 of 10: not in sync: resp=0x00
avrdude: Send: 0 [30] [20]
avrdude: ser_recv(): programmer is not responding

But it doesn't seem to be fully connecting for some reason. I've attached an image of my setup. Programmer is 3v3 and the wires seem to be correctly connected. Normally I hold the pogo programmer down on the watch.

I'm wondering if avrdudess does something extra other than calling avrdude. Also, do I need to use the fuse and lock bit commands?

Any suggestions are appreciated. Has anyone gotten the programmer to work on OSX?

Sad I can't understand your code... :(

Hi,
Please explain me how your code is built up, because I can't understand how your code was written. I can write programms in C / C++ but please explain (or structure) me your code Big Grin .
Hope you have time for this. Angel
See ya.
I mean the code for the wristwatch. ^^
Sorry for bad english, I'm german.

Hey, Just wanted to share this watch band I bought for the N|Watch. I think its a higher quality then most nylon watch bands.

  Hourly Chime Behavior Wish?
Posted by: RobG - 10-21-2014, 12:12 AM - Forum: N|Watch (DIY Digital Wristwatch) - Replies (1)

Hello, I am new here. I ordered a  N|Watch (2nd Batch). I do not have it yet, I can't wait!!!

Idea I do believe the watch has an hourly chime. I really wish that the chime could wake up the display when the chime went off. I also wish you could set this feature to only happen during the day and not at night to save battery life.

Is this forum for to post stuff like this?

Wishes for future versions of hours
Posted by: Le_Fleurs - 10-14-2014, 05:58 PM - Forum: N|Watch (DIY Digital Wristwatch) - Replies (8)

I think this topic is very necessary as many people would very much like to see the different additions to the clock. For example, I'd really like to be that there was bluetooth, who could do paired with your phone and the ability to read SMS messages stored on the watch to see who's calling such a MOD work. Smile
Who have more updates in hours would like to see?

Confusions that beginners will have in programming
Posted by: amir_zohaib - 10-08-2014, 09:28 PM - Forum: N|Watch (DIY Digital Wristwatch) - Replies (1)

i made myself busy learning about MCUs and arduinos, and i have a better understanding of it now,

1:Atmel chip is at the heart of Arduino

2:Arduino has their own programming language that works with their bootloader on Atmel

3:Atmel has their own "Hardcore" programming language, and some pins are assigned differently

4:An ATmel chip with Arduino (or optiboot) bootloader can be programmed using USB2Serial/TLL Adapter (using arduino IDE
and/or AVRdudes). In this case, using the pogo Adapter.

5:A blank ATmel chip is bootloaded using the AVR/USBASP programmer on SPI pads (using Avrdudes)
in this case, using the pads you provided

6:Fuses control the internal clock n stuff, they can be changed using AVR Programmer

7:i assume that this code is written in normal ATmel language, basically this watch has nothing to do with Arduino(it was confusing me all the time)

i will probably solder and desolder everytime , because i dont like holding onto cables while frimwares are being programmed, just the fear of Bricking devices.

  Charge Current
Posted by: Woozer - 10-07-2014, 10:06 AM - Forum: N|Watch (DIY Digital Wristwatch) - Replies (1)

Is there a reason for the low charge current for the battery? Or can i change the resistor value to increase the charge current, resulting in lower charge times.

Thanks,
W

Hi All,

Is there a guide somewhere, explaining how to upgrade the firmware?

Thanks
